The Quantitative Research, Technology and Trading Group at Smith, Hanley Associates has one focus: filling the specific quantitative, trading and technology needs for Wall Street's elite investment banks and hedge funds. Our noted success in continually achieving this goal is attributable to the following three principal factors:

With a combined total of over 50 years experience in the capital markets business, our small team of recruiters knows well and understands the philosophies of the banks, funds and lead players. QRTT's client list has been kept purposely small to ensure that we connect the best possible applicants with the best possible clients based on mutual optimal interests and needs.

Discretion

For each and every one of our clients, confidentiality is paramount. We assure that our searches are as discreet as possible, with only a select few individuals reviewing the backgrounds of our candidates, or the expansion plans of a client to determine a possible fit. At QRTT discretion is understood.

Emphasis on Long Term Career Objectives

Although the turnover rate at Wall Street institutions is customarily high, our goal is to match an individual's career goals to those of our clients in order to cultivate a long term career objective. Rather than institute matches that will only serve the purpose of the client or applicant for the short term, QRTT strives to find a fit between client and applicant that will benefit both for years.

Our History

Tom Hanley and Brant Smith, two graduates of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, founded Smith Hanley in 1980 and grew it to a professional staffing business with offices in five U.S. metropolitan areas, including New York, Southport, Chicago, Houston, and Orlando.
